Apparently I’m now big-time – with spammers, that is. I get at least a few thousand automated spam comments to my blog each day. Luckily, I use the Akismet WordPress plugin which filters out all the spam, but I worry a legitimate comment or two might get lost in the noise. Then I discovered the Are You A Human? As a new parent, I’ve seen my fair share of firsts. First steps, first words, first explosive poop (that last one I could have done without). The problem is – all these firsts are over by the time you realize they are happening. That, or you miss the moment scrambling around to grab a video camera or your phone to capture the moment.

I think Tile’s new product idea is really clever. Basically – you attach a Tile to your keys, drop one in your purse, stick one to your iPad, etc. Then fire up the companion app, and keep track of all your property. The app alerts you when a tile is in range, and the tile beeps as you get closer to help you locate the item.

I want to tell you about a really cool company I found a year ago in Entrepreneur Magazine. It’s called Twig Terrariums and was founded by Michelle Inciarrano and Katy Maslow. When I saw the article, it immediately caught my eye. It is the classic story of entrepreneurs who never really started out as entrepreneurs. Twig Terrariums makes little worlds, and little people to go in them. Read More
It was a dark & stormy night. Nancy Drew was in her bed, eyes open, willing herself to sleep. She thought she knew what being tired felt like, but this was a whole new level of tired. In her youth, she’d often stay up late poring over the latest mystery’s clues, piecing together the puzzle until everything became clear. Sure, she was tired then – but it was a different kind of tired. An excited tired. Every minute spent awake, was a minute closer to catching the culprit. But this – this was different. She wasn’t a kid anymore. No, this time she had a kid. Read More
I love Christmas! Opening presents, eating Santa’s cookies, and watching The Christmas Story & The Sound Of Music for the umpteenth time. But there is one activity I don’t look forward to – and that is putting lights on my Christmas tree.
Do my lights get tangled? Nope. I make sure to carefully wrap them each year to avoid this exact frustration. Roshan: 1; Xmas lights: 0. Do my lights stop working because of one burnt-out bulb? Nope. I always save all my extra bulbs in a ziplock bag packed away with the lights each year. Roshan: 2; Xmas lights: 0.
So where’s the poop? Read More
